The preoperative lab work for each surgical patient is individualized according to the patient's condition, surgical procedure and physician's preference.
All lab work must be drawn no earlier than before the surgical procedure.
The following tests are guidelines for required lab work:
Age indicated:
CBC
UA
PT
PTT
Electrolytes
Chest films, if indicated, are acceptable up to preoperatively.
EKGs, if performed, are acceptable up to preoperatively.
