A chain of custody will be established for physical evidence so that it may be used by law enforcement agencies.
Physical evidence, i.e., bullets, fragments, drugs, will be properly preserved and documented.
PROCEDURE:
The physician will pass the evidence to the Circulating RN.
Do not handle bullets with metal instruments if possible. Metal instruments will scratch the bullet.
Place bullet in nonmetal container after removal from the patient.
Submit bullets to law enforcement per local and state regulations.
