Any tissue may be sent to the Pathologist for frozen section, if requested by the operating surgeon.
PROCEDURE:
The Pathology Department must be notified by Ambulatory Care Services in advance of any surgery requiring the Pathologist's presence for either rapid frozen section RFS procedure and diagnosis or pathologic consultation while the patient is undergoing a surgical procedure.
This notification must be either a day in advance via the surgery schedule, which must be distributed during normal working hours, or by telephone if the case is added later than the distributed schedule... |
