It is the policy of Facility that a transfusion reaction requires immediate recognition and prompt nursing intervention to prevent further complications and possible death.
All transfusion reactions must be treated as serious in nature until proven otherwise. The proper procedure must be followed and a transfusion reaction form completed when indicated.
