To determine the appropriateness of procedure.
POLICY:
All patients undergoing operative or other procedures shall undergo an assessment that provides the information necessary to conduct the procedure.
PROCEDURE:
The patient will be examined by a physician, immediately prior to surgery, to evaluate the risk of the procedure to be performed.
A comprehensive history and physical shall be completed within 30 days prior to surgery and updated the day or surgery.
