To establish guidelines for performing STAT procedures.
POLICY:
Radiological procedures of an emergent nature are to be performed in the Imaging Services Department whenever possible. If there are extenuating circumstances whereby the patient is unable to be moved, every attempt will be made to perform the exam at the bedside.
PROCEDURE:
STAT orders must be ordered as STAT.
The Imaging Services Department must be notified of all STAT orders by telephone.
