To carry out and support the Patient Self-Determination Act within the Hospice's policies and the framework of state and federal law.
POLICY:
Hospice recognizes that all persons have a fundamental right to decide their medical treatment, including the right to accept or refuse. Hospice encourages individuals and their families to participate in decisions regarding care and treatment. Hospice respects and follows valid advance directives living wills, durable powers of attorney, do not resuscitate DNR/do not intubate DNI orders to the extent required by law.
